Job Description

A Store Keeper is responsible for managing inventory, ensuring the proper storage and security of goods, and maintaining accurate records of stock levels. They play a vital role in ensuring smooth operations in warehouses, factories, retail establishments, or any organization that relies on efficient stock management.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Inventory Management

    • Maintain accurate records of all stock and supplies.
    • Conduct regular stock audits to verify physical inventory against records.

  2. Receiving and Dispatching

    • Receive goods, check for damages, and confirm quantities.
    • Prepare and dispatch items as per organizational requirements.

  3. Storage Organization

    • Ensure goods are stored properly to prevent damage or loss.
    • Label and categorize inventory for easy access and identification.

  4. Record Keeping

    • Maintain detailed records of stock movements, including purchases and sales.
    • Use inventory management software to update and monitor stock levels.

  5. Coordination with Other Departments

    • Collaborate with procurement, production, and sales teams to ensure stock availability.
    • Communicate low stock levels and recommend reordering when necessary.

  6. Safety and Compliance

    • Ensure the storage area complies with health and safety standards.
    • Implement security measures to protect inventory from theft or damage.
